Super soft and delicious naans filled with cheese..

 
 

Here is the recipe.

Makes 3 small cheese filled round naans or 6 small cheese filled semicircle naans.

Ingredients :

All purpose flour (maida) - 2 cups
Istant yeast - 1 Teaspoon
Baking powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil - 3 Tablespoons
Milk - 1/2 cup warm (less or more)
Yogurt - 4 Tablespoons
Cream cheese spread - as required, plain or herbed

Cheese - as required (Mozzarella, Cheddar, Halloumi, Kashkaval)

Method :
1. In a mixing bowl add flour, yeast, baking powder,  salt and sugar. Mix well to combine.
2. Add oil and yogurt (room temperature or cold) and mix.
3. Add warm milk little by little and start kneading to form a very soft dough. Remember that milk has to be warm,  neither hot nor cold.
4. Keep adding milk little by little and knead for 8-10 minutes.
5. Take some oil in your fingers, apply all over the dough and keep it covered with a cling film in a warm place for an hour or more till the dough doubles in size. 
6. After the resting period remove the dough and punch down the air and divide it into equal portions. I made 6.
7. Roll out one of the dough portion into a disc. Roll it thin as it will swell up a bit during cooking. Keep it aside.
8. Roll out another dough portion into a disc of almost same size.
8. Apply cream cheese all over the prepared disc. This is optional but the naan is extra tasty when you use cream cheese.
9. Add shredded or crumbled cheese. You can use just mozzarella or use cheddar or use a mixture. I have made it with Halloumi and Kashkaval too.
10. Now place the first disc on top of this disc and seal the edges.
11. You can cut into a neat circle by using a lid or a small kitchen plate or cutter. Crimp the edges to seal with your fingers or with a fork.
12. You can even fold over a single naan to make a semicircle instead of using two naans.
13. Heat a tawa and reduce flame to low flame. Place a naan on it, cover and cook for about 3 minutes.
14. Flip it to the other side, cover and cook again for another 3 minutes.
12. Once the naan is done on the other side as well, remove it and place it either in a hotpot or cover in a cloth to stay soft and warm till being served. These naans taste best when served immediately.
