Ayran is the national drink of Turkey. Ayran is a cold yogurt beverage which can be made plain or can be flavored. Ayran is very similar to the Indian salted lassi but is more creamier and is served with generous amount of creamy froth.
Here is the recipe..
Serves 2
Ingredients:
Yogurt - 1 glass
Water - 1 glass
Salt as per taste
Garlic - 1/2 clove, use more or less, optional
Mint leaves - 2, use more or less, optional
Ice cubes - as required, optional
Method :
1. In a mixing bowl or a blender add yogurt, water and salt.
2. Blend till froth starts to form. Continue to blend till desired for upto 5 minutes. I used my stand mixer.
3. Serve chilled with or without ice cubes.
4. Using a spoon add some of the creamy froth on top of the glass.
5. Prepare flavored Ayran with just mint leaves or a mix of garlic and mint leaves.
