Arabic Lentil Soup is rich and creamy. It is very tasty and filling.
This lentil soup is known as Shorbat Adas in Arabic.

Here is the recipe..

Serves 2

Ingredients :
Masoor Daal (Red Lentil) - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1/2 finely chopped
Maida (All Purpose Flour) - 1/2 Tablespoon
Water - 2 cups
Olive Oil - 2 Tablespoons
Salt to taste
Lemon Juice for serving, Optional

Method :
1. Wash and soak the masoor daal in water for an hour.
2. In a cooking vessel or saucepan heat 1 Tablespoon of olive oil.
3. Add the chopped onions and cook till they turn translucent.
4. Drain the water from the daal and add it. Mix well.
5. Add maida and mix well.
6. Add water and mix well.
7. Bring to a boil and reduce the flame to low.
8. Let the soup simmer for 30 minutes on low flame.
9. Add water if needed to adjust to desired consistency.
10. When the daal is completely cooked switch off flame.
11. Blend the soup till it turns completely smooth. I used an immersion hand blender.
12. Add salt and mix well.
13. Serve hot.
