I saw this Baked Apple recipe on my facebook wall more than a month back and bookmarked it instantly. I even asked the recipe owner a question which she was very kind to promptly answer. I however forgot about it. I went through all my bookmarked recipes yesterday and picked this one to give a try. I had just one red apple at home and thought I would make one first and if we like it then I can make more later.

The original recipe is served with cream but I served the warm apple with its caramel sauce and vanilla icecream. The first bite instantly followed a WOW!! from both me and my husband. It was so good. My husband loved it and has even said that this is the best dessert he has ever had. He even went and brought apples today to make this again.

It makes me very happy when food prepared is enjoyed. Who doesn't feel happy by the way??

Here is the recipe..

I made 1 apple. Can be shared by 2 or finished by 1 person

Ingredients :
Apple - 1 (I used red apple)
Brown Sugar - 2 Tablespoons
Butter - 2 Tablespoons, Unsalted
Cinnamon Powder as required

Method :
1. Preheat oven to 190C.
2. Wash the apple and core it. Leave the peal on.
3. Place the apple in a glass baking dish. I used a small stoneware baking dish.
4. Place a little of the brown sugar and the butter inside the core of the apple.
5. Place the remaining brown sugar and butter around the apple.
6. Sprinkle with cinnamon powder as required.
7. Bake for about 1 hour till the apple starts to wrinkle and turn soft. Turn the apple around every 15 minutes and coat it in the syrup.
8. Serve warm with the sauce and top it with vanilla ice cream or chilled cream. The sauce thickens as it cools and even turns chewy.

Enjoy Baked Apple.
