A very tasty and filling soup which can be substituted for a meal too. This soup is perfect when you are down with a cold or feeling unwell.



Here is the recipe..

Serves - 2

Ingredients:

Crushed Wheat or Broken Wheat - 1/4 cup
Onion - 1/2 chopped
Tomato - 1/2 chopped
Meat - 125 gms with bones, use more if desired
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 Teaspoon
Garam Masala - 1/4 Teaspoon
Black Peppercorns - 8
Black Pepper - 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt to Taste
Oil - 1 Tablespoon
Salt to taste
Water as required
Coriander Leaves - 2 Tablespoons chopped
Lemon juice - 1 Teaspoon, Optional

Method :
1. Wash and soak the crushed wheat for 1.5 hours
2. Wash the meat well and pressure cook it for 30 minutes with 1.5 cups water, salt and peppercorns.
3. When the meat is done, add another 1.5 cups of water and bring to a boil. Separate the meat from the soup and keep both aside.
4. When the meat cools down, remove the bones and discard them.
5. Cut the meat into small pieces or shred it.



6. In a pressure cooker heat oil and add onions.
7. Fry till translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
8. Add the tomatoes and fry for a minute.
9. Add the pepper, salt and garam masala and stir well.
10. Add the soup and bring to a boil.
11. Add the soaked crushed wheat without any water.
12. Add the mutton pieces and mix well.
13. Pressure cook for 15 minutes.
14. When done, add additional water to achieve desired consistency.
15. Add the coriander leaves and the lemon juice if using. Mix well.
