This was the first time I made or had poha. It tasted good and was easy to prepare. I had a new recipe to add to my breakfast list. My husband did not even try it as he doesnt try new things very easily. I am sure he will love it when he tries it too. I am yet to try it with my toddler.

Here is the recipe..

Serves 2

Ingredients :
Poha - 1 cup (thick poha)
Onion - 1 chopped
Green chilli - 1
Ginger - 1 Teaspoon finely chopped
Coconut - 3 Tablespoons grated
Curry Leaves - 6-8
Salt to taste
Water as required
Ghee - 3 Teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
Urad daal - 1 Teaspoon
Chana Daal - 2 Teaspoon

Method :

1. Wash the poha and drain all the water. Soak it in hot water and salt with the water just enough to soak the poha. Cover it and keep it aside for at least 15 minutes.
2. In a cooking vessel heat 2 Teaspoons ghee. Add mustard seeds, urad daal and chana daal. Add curry leaves. Let it temper.
3. Add the ginger, green chilli and onions and mix well. Fry till the onion turns translucent.
4. Add the soaked poha and mix well. Level it in the vessel, cover and cook for 4 minutes on medium flame.
5.Add the grated coconut and the remaining 1 Teaspoon ghee and mix well.

Enjoy Poha Upma.
