Oh yes you read that right.. Saudi Champagne!!
I know the two words dont quite go together but this is a non-alcoholic refreshing drink.
I tasted this drink for the first time at my friend Amreen's place when she had invited us over for lunch. I do not drink any aerated drinks but this is one exception. Amreen was kind enough to share the recipe with me, so here it goes with a bit of changes.

Saudi Champagne (Non Alcoholic)
serves 2-3

Ingredients :

Apple - 1/2 cored, de-seeded cut into small thin pieces with peel
Orange - 1/2 cut into small wedges with skin
Chilled Apple juice (non aerated) - 500 ml
Sparkling Water - 250 ml
Mint Leaves - 15-20 leaves

Method :
1. Take a pitcher and add the apple pieces. (You dont really see the pitcher, do you??)

2. Add the orange wedges to the pitcher

3. Add the mint leaves (I didnt have them)
4. Add chilled apple juice to this.

5. Cover and place this in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
6. Just before serving, add the sparkling water, give a stir and serve.

Update - Made again with mint leaves.

7. Eat the fruits once the drink is over. They taste great.

Notes :
1. You can replace the sparkling water with soda or 7up or sprite.
2. The thumb rule is 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 ltr apple juice, half litre aerated drink.
3. Cut the fruits directly into the pitcher to save additional vessels.

I did not find mint leaves. I checked 2 leading super markets and 3 grocery stores and mint leaves are out of stock. When such ridiculous things happen and I get surprised and irritated, my husband says, "Welcome to Qatar"
