Piñita colada is piña colada made without Rum. So Piñita colada is actually Virgin piña colada.  Piña colada literally means Strained Pineapple. I made virgin piña colada today for iftar with banana to enhance the taste of the famous cocktail. The tastes of banana, pineapple and coconut cream blend together real well and taste excellent. 

Here goes the recipe

To serve 1

Ingredients :

Banana 1/2 large ripe sliced Crushed Pineapple (fresh or canned) - 2 Tablespoons

Pineapple Juice (chilled) - 1/2 cup
Coconut cream - 1/4 cup (Can be substituted with thick coconut milk)
Crushed Ice - 1/2 cup (crush ice by hitting it gently with flat side of hammer by placing it in a zip lock bag wrapped in a thick towel)
Sugar - 1/2 Tablespoon or to taste
Vanilla Ice Cream - 1 scoop (optional)
Lemon Juice - 1/2 Teaspoon (optional)


1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until very smooth, creamy and well combined. 

2. Serve chilled in a glass and you can garnish with pineapple wedges or maraschino cherries or both.


1. Adding of vanilla ice cream is optional but gives a creamy texture, 
2. Add lemon juice only if the pineapples are very sweet.
3. Omit or limit sugar if the pineapple juice and / or the coconut cream are sweetened.
